An Ode to Nautical Splendor

AS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF MONACO AND THE CEO and Publisher of The Monegasque™, I want to thank H.S.H. Prince Albert for his 20 years of reign.

And, as we approach the Monaco Yacht Show, I note that it has been 34 years since this modest gathering transformed into a dazzling emblem of our Principality’s allure. Since its inception in 1991, when French entrepreneur Maurice Cohen first assembled 32 yachts in Port Hercules, this event has grown into a global spectacle, drawing the world’s elite to marvel at superyachts that epitomize wealth, innovation, and the timeless call of the sea.

The show remains a cornerstone of Monaco’s identity, a radiant celebration of craftsmanship and ambition set against the Mediterranean’s azure embrace. At The Monegasque™, we are delighted to partner with world-class yacht builders such as Oceanco, Sanlorenzo, and Azimut, whose collaboration reflects their faith and confidence in our brand’s commitment to excellence.

The 2024 edition raised the bar yet again, showcasing Kismet and Golden Odyssey, the largest yachts ever displayed here. These floating estates, with their helipads and palatial interiors, transformed Port Hercules into a gallery of human aspiration. For a Monegasque like myself, witnessing these giants glide into our harbor is a point of pride, a reminder of Monaco’s unique place as a stage for the extraordinary.

Yet the Monaco Yacht Show is more than a display of opulence. It is a testament to the ingenuity of shipyards like Oceanco, Sanlorenzo, and Azimut, whose engineering feats redefine what a yacht can be. It is a forum where designers, brokers, and owners converge, shaping an industry that thrives on exclusivity. And it prompts reflection on the balance between luxury and responsibility in a world increasingly attuned to sustainability. Our partnerships with these esteemed builders underscore our shared vision of celebrating innovation and craftsmanship, amplifying the show’s prestige.

More than ever before we need to build the future through the prism of eco-responsibility. The yachting industry cannot evolve unless it incorporates the concept of sustainable development in every one of its initiatives.

- H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco

As we prepare for 2025, I feel the same anticipation that hums through the Principality every year. The Monaco Yacht Show is not just an event - it is a celebration of the dreams that dance on our waters, a mirror of Monaco’s enduring elegance, and a privilege to witness from my home on these storied shores, alongside partners who elevate our mission.
