THE MAGIC OF SENNA

I WAS BORN IN SÃO PAULO IN 1983, but this Principality, with its shimmering coastline and rich racing history, became more than just a residence—it became the backdrop of my life’s most pivotal moments.

My earliest memories are filled with the roar of engines and the gleam of racing helmets, all thanks to my uncle, Ayrton Senna. He wasn’t just a global icon; to me, he was the uncle who introduced me to the world of speed and precision. I remember our times together—karting sessions, jet-ski races, and his patient guidance as he taught me the intricacies of racing. He once said, “If you think I’m fast, just wait until you see my nephew.”

After his tragic passing in 1994, and the subsequent loss of my father, my world was shaken. Racing took a backseat as our family navigated through grief. But the passion instilled in me by Ayrton couldn’t be extinguished. With the unwavering support of my mother, Viviane, and encouragement from family friend Gerhard Berger, I reignited my racing career, eventually making my way to Formula One.

During my early racing years, I resided in the UK, immersing myself in the competitive world of motorsport. However, in 2010, I made a significant move to Monaco. The allure of its favorable climate, coastal beauty, and optimal conditions for fitness training drew me in. It felt like a full-circle moment, following in Ayrton’s footsteps, who had a deep affinity for Monaco, achieving six Grand Prix victories here.

Monaco didn’t just offer professional opportunities; it enriched my personal life profoundly. Here, I met my wife, and together we welcomed our baby girl into the world. The Principality also became a hub for my close-knit circle of friends and family, further solidifying its significance in my life.

One of the most memorable moments of my career was winning the GP2 Feature Race in Monaco. It was the first time in 15 years that the Senna name topped the leaderboard in the Principality, a testament to the enduring legacy Ayrton left behind.

Today, as I walk the same streets Ayrton once did, I feel his presence in every corner of Monaco. His legacy continues to inspire me, not just as a driver but as a person striving to make a positive impact. Being an ambassador for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation allows me to give back to the community that has given me so much.

Monaco is more than just a place; it’s a symbol of dreams realized, challenges overcome, and legacies continued. As I raise my family here, I hope to pass on the values Ayrton embodied: passion, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
