ABOUT TWENTY YEARS AGO, I encountered a concept that captured my imagination: The World, the first and—so far—only ship offering permanent residences on board and continuously circumnavigating the globe. The idea fascinated me. I remember looking at the floor plans, exploring the details, and for a time I was tempted to purchase a residence on board. I didn’t end up doing so, however, this did set the stage for something much bigger—a vision that eventually became ULYSSIA.
As a Monaco resident, I have had the privilege of living in one of the most glamorous, dynamic places in the world. The Côte d’Azur has long been home to visionaries, dreamers and creators of the highest order, and it has always inspired me to think bigger. Here I am reminded that innovation is born from boldness, from the willingness to imagine a different way of living. This is precisely what ULYSSIA represents—a life lived without boundaries, a floating community where the extraordinary becomes the everyday.
From the very beginning, my dream was not just to create another yacht—it was to build something that could change the way people think about life at sea. ULYSSIA is not just a yacht. She is a floating community, a place where life is as grand and dynamic as the oceans she sails. It is for those who seek the freedom of the open sea, but who also demand the highest levels of luxury, design and service. I wanted to create a space where people could truly live, not just travel.
I named ULYSSIA after Ulysses, the seafarer. The project enabled me to combine my experience as architect, designer, entrepreneur and yachtsman. ULYSSIA will be 320 meters long and feature 15 decks, designed to offer a level of comfort and exclusivity unlike anything else. At almost 100,000 gross tons, she will be more than twice the size of The World.
The vision behind ULYSSIA is not just about size, however. It is about the experience, about the idea that this yacht is a place where one can live fully, whether one is enjoying an exciting excursion, a quiet day at sea or an intimate gathering with friends. Every detail will be designed with one purpose in mind: to offer a truly unique life with the perfect blend of adventure, world-class amenities and wellbeing.
